Eliyahu (Eli) Stern, born in 1946, lives in Reut, Israel. He is married to Hana, father of three children, and grandfather to seven grandchildren. Eli is an attorney and notary public, and the founder of an independent law firm established in 1973, which continues to operate successfully to this day.
Eli’s passion for photography began at the age of 13, driven by natural curiosity, sensitivity to people and surroundings, and continuous self-learning. His first steps into the world of photography were taken with a Minolta camera, and for many years he photographed intuitively, guided by artistic instinct and personal perspective.
Around the age of 50, Eli decided to deepen his commitment to photography and transform it from a beloved hobby into a more serious and dedicated pursuit. He purchased his first digital Canon camera, completed both beginner and advanced photography studies, and since then has continued to evolve, learn, and create through a genuine passion for the world behind the lens.
Over the years, Eli has photographed in many locations around the world, including Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Tanzania, Zanzibar, China, Cuba, Romania, Armenia, Georgia, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Moscow, and St. Petersburg. In Israel, he frequently captures desert landscapes, wildlife, and nature scenes, alongside street photography, portraits, and night photography – from the Negev Desert and Mitzpe Ramon to the Hula Lake Park, Eilat, and the Druze villages of the Galilee.
Eli’s photographic style combines a sensitive human perspective with a deep appreciation for nature, people, and diverse cultures. His work focuses primarily on portraits, wildlife, landscapes, and urban photography, with an ongoing effort to capture authentic moments, natural light, and the quiet stories found within everyday life.
The photographs presented on this website have been carefully selected from collections built over many years of journeys, encounters, and experiences around the world.
